Everyone was left stunned when the umpires called for the lunch break when India were just two runs away from their massive victory in the second One Day Internationals (ODI) match against South Africa at Centurion.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who was at the crease along with Shikhar Dhawan, could not believe the umpires’ decision.

Meanwhile, cricket lovers and cricket fraternity were shocked and disappointment with their decision and took it micro-blogging site to express it.

Here is how the former cricketers reacted to umpires decided to call the lunch break:

“Umpires treating Indian batsmen like PSU Bank treat customers. Lunch ke baad aana #INDvSA,” Virender Sehwag writes on Twitter.

“Cricket is bloody bonkers … Lunch break was taken with 2 runs required for Victory … Surely common sense comes into play !!!!!!!!! #SAvsIND,” writes Michael Vaughan.

 

 

 

Earlier on Sunday, after winning the toss, Captain Virat Kohli invited the South African team to bat first and managed to bowl them out at the score of 118 runs.

Following the target, India defeated South Africa by nine wickets. From the Indian side, Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets and Shikhar Dhawan scored a half-century.
