The fourth season of the T20 Mumbai League and the inaugural edition of the T20 Mumbai Women’s League will be held from June 1 to 13 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced on Thursday.

In a major boost for domestic cricket, the men’s and women’s competitions will run simultaneously, underlining the MCA’s push towards creating a larger and more inclusive platform for emerging talent.

The men’s tournament will feature several top Indian stars, including Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube, Sarfaraz Khan and Shardul Thakur alongside some of Mumbai’s brightest young prospects.

Young talents such as Ayush Mhatre, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Musheer Khan, Suryansh Shedge and Abhigyan Kundu are also expected to draw attention during the tournament.

The inaugural women’s competition will showcase rising stars and established domestic performers, including Sayali Satghare, Saima Thakor, Humaira Kazi and teenage sensation Ira Jadhav, who emerged as the costliest player at the auction.

Speaking about the tournament, MCA president Ajinkya Naik said:

“The T20 Mumbai League has consistently played an important role in strengthening Mumbai’s cricketing ecosystem and providing opportunities for emerging players to perform alongside some of the biggest names in the game. Conducting both the men’s and women’s tournaments at the Wankhede Stadium reflects the MCA’s commitment to creating a larger and more inclusive platform for talent development and taking Mumbai cricket to a wider audience.”

Rajdip Gupta, Chairman of the League Governing Council, added that playing at Wankhede Stadium and receiving nationwide broadcast exposure would be a major step in the development of young cricketers.

All matches will be telecast live on Star Sports and streamed on JioHotstar.
