Cricket enthusiasts in Asia are in for a big feast as Sri Lanka will host a tri-nation T20 series, featuring India and Bangladesh in March 2018.

“The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) technical committee and cricket committee is looking into it, but at the moment we would like it to be a T20 triangular — that’s what the agreement is,” SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala said in a statement on Thursday.

However, Sri Lanka are scheduled to tour India ahead of the tri-series in 2018.

The series will include three Tests, five ODIs and two T20Is, though the SLC proposed to convert some of the ODIs into T20Is to gain some substantial monetary benefit from Asian clash.

“We made this appeal to India in about June or May last year,” Sumathipala added, emphasising that the shortest format of cricket might get them maximum profits.
