The newly-elected BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will meet the National Cricket Academy chief Rahul Dravid on October 23 to discuss the future of the institution. Reportedly, the meeting will also be attended by the other office-bearers of BCCI.

With the former Indian captain at the helm of Indian cricket, hopes and anticipations are running wild for a revival in the administration of the sport which has been hit with numerous corruption scandals in recent times.

Much to the joy of the cricket enthusiasts, Ganguly set the ball rolling after he met the selection panel and Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma as well just a day after he was formally elected.

NCA, which is considered as the feeder line of Indian cricket, has been reduced to a rehabilitation centre for the injured players looking to get themselves back in the national set-up. Ganguly admitted the same after taking over the chief office of the world’s largest cricketing body.

But now with David at the top of it and the BCCI chief directly intervening, there could be a new dawn for the institution. Dravid, the former India A and Under-19 coach, has already drawn up the roadmap and Ganguly is expected to give his inputs in the meeting which will also be attended by NCA CEO Tufan Ghosh.

“Ganguly and Dravid will be discussing the way forward for NCA and the issues it faces,” a BCCI official has been quoted as saying to Republic TV.

Former playing partner of Ganguly and Dravid, VVS Laxman has already expressed his high hopes from the superstar duo about reviving the fate of the NCA.

“If you ask me one thing, it would be how Sourav can revive the NCA. The greatness of this Indian team is their bench strength,” Laxman was quoted as saying by Republic TV last week.
