The sudden demise of Sridevi has left India in deep shock and the cricket fraternity, too, has been mourning the death of the legendary actress who died in Dubai on late Saturday night after suffering a cardiac arrest. From ‘God of Cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar to former explosive Indian batsman Virender Sehwag offered their condolences to the family of the actress.

Virender Sehwag took it to Twitter and wrote “Shocked to hear about the demise of #Sridevi ji .Heartfelt Condolences to the family. Om Shanti !”.

 

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly wrote, “So shocked to hear the news of Sridevi ji… met her few months ago at my show … just can’t believe it ..”

 

The veteran Indian batsman VVS Laxman wrote, “Very shocked to hear about the passing away of iconic actress #Sridevi ji. Condolences to her family and loved ones. May her soul rest in peace.”

 

Harsha Bhogle also expresses his sadness and wrote on Twitter, “Oh, no! In her own way, she lit up the screen. Such a star! No age to go. #Sridevi.”

 

Sachin Tendulkar also mourned the sudden demise of Sridevi, saying it is hard to digest that the veteran actress is no more.

“It is really sad. When I woke up and read about it … it is really sad I have no words to express because we all grew up watching her and suddenly to hear that she is no longer with us is hard to digest,” Tendulkar said after flagging off the 3rd IDBI Federal Life Insurance New Delhi Marathon on Sunday.

“My condolences to her family members and everyone who followed her and loved her for everything that she was and everything she did for us,” he added.
