The on-field banter between India’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant and Australian skipper Tim Paine took a new twist on Tuesday after the Aussie captain’s wife Bonnie posted an Instagram story and called the Delhi batsman “best babysitter.”

In the Instagram story posted by Tim Paine’s wife, Rishabh Pant is seen posing with the two kids of Bonnie and Tim Paine. The post was a result of the on-field banter between Paine and Pant during the Melbourne Test when the 34-year-old keeper batsman had invited the Indian to babysit his children sometime.

During the third Test match between India and Australia, Paine asked Pant to join Big Bash league team Hobart Hurricanes as former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has returned to India’s ODI squad.

Paine’s comment was followed by the “babysitting” jibe. The Aussie skipper further said, “Tell you what, big MS (Dhoni) is back in the one-day squad too, we might get him down to the (Hobart) Hurricanes this bloke, we need a batter. Fancy that Pant, extend your little Aussie holiday. Beautiful town Hobart too. Get you a nice apartment on the water front. Have him over for dinner. Can you babysit? (Can I) take the wife to the movies one night, you can look after the kids?”

Following Paine’s jibe, Rishabh Pant got his revenge when Paine walked out to bat during Australia’s inning. Pant was heard saying on the stump-mic, “Running away always, always running away. Too difficult, too difficult….We’ve got a special guest today. Have you heard of a temporary captain ever? Have you heard of it? Have you heard of anything like a temporary captain ever? You don’t need anything to get him out, boy. He loves to talk. That’s the only thing he can do boy. Only talking, talking.”
