Real Madrid warmed up for their Champions League tie in Paris next week with a 3-1 win at home to Getafe.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on Saturday night after Gareth Bale had opened the scoring to beat their rivals from the south of Madrid, reports Xinhua news agency.

Bale opened the scoring from 12 yards out after Getafe failed to clear a corner and Ronaldo doubled the lead on the stroke of halftime after a Karim Ben zema pass.

A Francisco Portillo penalty briefly gave the visitors hope, but Ronaldo’s second goal of the game assured the points stayed in Madrid ahead of next week’s season defining Champions League tie.
