Raipur is set for a high-voltage cricket evening as India take on New Zealand in the second T20 International at the Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium on Friday. With India riding on a commanding start to the series and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup drawing closer, the contest is expected to generate intense action both on the field and in the stands.

Anticipating a full house and a heavy influx of spectators from across Chhattisgarh, the administration has put in place a comprehensive traffic, parking and security plan to ensure smooth conduct of the match.

Given the expected turnout from multiple districts, traffic police have earmarked specific routes and parking zones for different entry points into the city. Spectators approaching from Raipur will be directed via the Telibandha police junction, National Highway-53, the Serikhedi overbridge and the Naya Raipur corridor.

Separate traffic arrangements have been finalised for vehicles arriving from Bilaspur, Balodabazar, Jagdalpur, Dhamtari, Durg–Bhilai and Ambikapur. Private vehicles will be allowed only up to designated parking areas, from where spectators will proceed to the stadium on foot. Parking-pass holders will be guided to separate enclosures according to their pass category.

To curb overcharging, the Chhattisgarh State Cricket Sangh has fixed uniform rates for all food and beverages inside the stadium. Menu boards displaying approved prices will be installed at every stall, and vendors will be required to display rates on their uniforms. Officials have warned of strict action against any violation.

The match will begin at 7 pm, with stadium gates opening at 4 pm. Entry will be strictly prohibited after the conclusion of the first innings. For security reasons, spectators will not be allowed to carry items such as bottles, cans, lighters, cigarettes, cameras, power banks, selfie sticks, backpacks, umbrellas, sharp objects, fireworks, weapons, inflammable materials, outside food or alcoholic beverages into the venue.

As Raipur prepares itself to host another marquee international fixture, the administration has urged spectators to arrive well in advance, adhere to traffic advisories and cooperate with security personnel. Officials said the elaborate arrangements are aimed at ensuring a safe, orderly and memorable cricketing experience for fans in the state capital.
