Completing her rehabilitation from an ankle injury, Pratika Rawal has been included in India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, BCCI announced on Tuesday.
India leads the T20I leg 1-0 in the ongoing multi-format tour, with the ODI series set to begin on February 24 in Brisbane, followed by matches in Hobart. The tour also features a one-off Test in Perth at the WACA Ground on March 6, for which Rawal was already selected.
“The Women’s Selection Committee has added Pratika Rawal to India’s ODI squad. She has fully recovered from the ankle injury sustained during the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in October,” the BCCI said.
Rawal had been sidelined since October 26, missing the World Cup knockout stages after injury to her right ankle and knee in a league match against Bangladesh.
The 24-year-old opening batter, who plays for UP Warriorz in the 2026 Women’s Premier League, had been signed for ₹50 lakh in the November 2025 mega auction. She did not feature in any WPL matches this season due to ongoing rehabilitation.
Before her injury, Rawal had been a key performer in the ODI World Cup, scoring 308 runs, including a century and a half-century, finishing as India’s second-highest run-scorer. Since her ODI debut in December 2024, she has amassed 1,110 runs in 24 innings at an average of 50.45 with a strike rate of 82.83, including two centuries and seven half-centuries. Her performances also earned her maiden BCCI central contract earlier this month.
