Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli will not disassociate himself from state-owned Punjab National Bank and is likely to complete his endorsement commitment with the bank.

Talking to Economic Times, Bunty Sajdeh, CEO of Cornerstone Sport & Entertainment, the talent management company representing Virat Kohli said, “It is our understanding that there is no conclusive or even enough reason to blame PNB as a bank on the whole for the unfortunate turn of events. In any case, Virat’s contract with the bank concludes later this year. So, as things stand, we are not disassociating ourselves.”

However, it is being said that the 29-year-old cricket has had made-up his mind and he will not renew his contract with PNB in the wake of Nirav Modi scam.

“There is no dialogue to extend the contract so as of now, no, we are not in talks to extend the contract,” Bunty Sajdeh added.

Earlier, there were media reports that Virat Kohli might end his contract with PNB. However, the state-controlled bank had denied it. “The same is again totally false and incorrect. Virat Kohli is our brand ambassador,” PNB had said in a statement.

The highest paid sportsperson of India, Virat, was roped in as the face of PNB after the bank was hit with rising non-performing assets (NPAs).

Currently, the Delhi lad is endorsing 17 different brands, including Audi, MRF, Tissot, Gionee, Puma, Boost, Colgate and Vicks.
