The 12th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) will begin on August 29, organisers announced on Wednesday. Defending champions Haryana Steelers will return to defend their maiden title in what promises to be the most competitive season so far.
Fresh off a record-breaking player auction, where 10 players crossed the ₹1-crore mark, all 12 franchises have bolstered their squads, setting the stage for high-octane action and fierce rivalries.
“The foundation is set for our most competitive season yet. We look forward to bringing fans another thrilling chapter of kabaddi,” said Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner and Business Head, Mashal Sports.
The venues and match schedules will be announced soon. Sanctioned by the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India, PKL has grown into one of India’s most successful sporting leagues, revolutionising the indigenous sport and elevating its athletes to national and global prominence.
