New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor fought with the leg injury and scored unbeaten 181 runs and guided his team to five wickets victory over England on Wednesday in the fourth one-day cricket international (ODI) match of five-match series. With the win, Kiwi team have levelled the series at 2-2.

Batting first, riding on the sensational centuries of Joe Root (102) and Jonny Bairstow (138), England scored 335 runs for nine wickets in their allotted 50 overs.

After two early dismissals, Taylor first stabilized the innings by adding 84 runs with Captain Kane Williamson (45) for the third wicket and then 179 runs with Tom Latham (71) for fourth wickets.

On Wednesday, Taylor not just reached his 19th century but also surpassed his highest score of 131 and scored unbeaten 181 runs.

Taylor scored 181 runs off 147 deliveries and during his innings he slammed 17 fours and 6 maximum.

Talking about his achievement, Taylor said, “It was nice to be there at the end.”

“We knew chasing that total that we just had to give ourselves a chance. It was a good wicket, we needed to just set those little goals along the way and give ourselves a chance. You never win a game like that in the first 10 overs but you certainly do lose it,” Taylor added.
