Lauding the Indian Men Cricket Team on winning the Asia Cup Title by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan in a tightly contested match at Dubai, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday commented that the Indian cricketers played like warriors.

He also hailed the team’s decision to donate their match fee to the Indian Armed Forces and the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

Dr Yadav told media persons at Indore, “This is the new India.”

The MP CM also backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s congratulatory remarks for the Indian team’s win.

The PM had said on social media after the victory, “Operation Sindoor on the field. The result is the same… India wins. Congratulations to our cricketers.”

The MP CM also echoed the same sentiments. “The Prime Minister has rightly described our title win. India has defeated Pakistan on the cricket field too, just like Operation Sindoor”, Dr Yadav maintained.

India won the Asia Cup for the ninth time on Sunday, defeating Pakistan by five wickets in the final, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten half-century by Tilak Varma, and a four-wicket haul by spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who crippled Pakistan’s middle order.

The Indian team, unbeaten throughout the tournament, also recorded a hat-trick of victories against Pakistan in the competition.

Following the win, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav announced that he will donate his entire match fee from the Asia Cup to the Indian Armed Forces and the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The Indian team also refused to accept the trophy from Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, President of the Asian Cricket Council and Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, who is also Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Interior and Narcotics Control.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav welcomed this move and said he was proud of the Indian team.

He said, “I would also like to congratulate our players who have pledged to donate their entire match fee to the armed forces. They even refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi. We have seen the rest. Our players don’t even believe in making eye contact with Pakistani players, let alone shaking hands with them.”
