Egypt, Jordan, France urge immediate ceasefire in Gaza
Egypt, Jordan, and France have urged an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which has been under Israeli siege and bombardment over the past six months.
Everton Midfielder and part of the 2014 FIFA World Cup-winning France team, Morgan Schneiderlin, in a recent interview, stated that neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Lionel Messi are the favourites to win the Ballon d’Or 2019.
The former Manchester United opined that since the duo of Ronaldo and Messi failed to win the UEFA Champions League (UCL), they should not be in the race for the coveted Ballon d’Or award.
Schneiderlin also said that although Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is the favourite among many fans and critics, he may end up not winning the prestigious award.

“This year, many people will say Virgil van Dijk now and I don’t know if he is going to win because he is a centre-back. They don’t win a lot of awards, but why not for him?” he said in an interaction with Shaistah Kader who works for Soccer Laduma.
“Because you have players like Cristiano Ronaldo, who didn’t win a lot this year, and Lionel Messi didn’t win much either. Kylian Mbappe, maybe, because he won the World Cup?” he added.
