Minerva Academy FC’s dream run at the Helsinki Cup 2025 continued with two more commanding wins on Day 2, as the Indian side blanked Icelandic powerhouses KR Reykjavik 9-0 and Afturelding 3-0 to maintain their unbeaten streak.
With four wins in as many matches and a perfect defensive record — 12 points, 24 goals scored, none conceded, Minerva sit firmly atop Group A, six points clear of second-placed KR (IS).
In their opener of the day, Minerva dismantled Iceland’s most successful club KR Reykjavik, 27-time national champions, with a relentless attacking display. Raj opened the scoring, while Chetan and Punshiba netted braces in the record 9-0 win, the biggest margin of the tournament so far.
Later, against Afturelding, another storied Icelandic club known for youth development, Raj, Punshiba and Kabir struck again to seal a fourth consecutive clean sheet for Minerva.
With clinical finishing, rock-solid defending and seamless coordination, Minerva Academy FC have not only taken control of their group but are making a strong statement about the emergence of Indian youth football on the European stage.
