Rahul Johri, CEO of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, has become the first name to surface from the world of Indian cricket as the #MeToo storm rages on in the country. Johri has been serving as the BCCI CEO since April 2016.

Rahul Johri has been named by a Twitter user, posting on behalf of another woman. In her post, the user shared three screenshots containing a detailed account of the woman who has accused Johri of taking advantage of her on the pretext of offering a job opportunity.

The post gave a detailed account of the sexual act committed on the woman. After several media reports had named and posted the tweet, the Twitter user posted a follow-up tweet as all media organisations from naming, quoting, and mentioning her or giving links to her tweets, or post screenshots, saying the survivor wanted her privacy respected.

Rahul Johri is responsible for BCCI operations, stakeholder management, building strategies and for further promoting cricket in India. Before his stint with BCCI, Johri served as Executive Vice President and General Manager – South Asia for Discovery Networks Asia Pacific.

Earlier, an Indian flight attendant had accused former Sri Lanka skipper Arjuna Ranatunga of sexually harassing her. Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga was also named in too me too movement by a playback singer named Chinmayi Sripaada.

Chinmayi Sripaada has accused Lasith Malinga of sexual assault. Chinmayi Sripaada took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to narrate the alleged incident. As per the singer, the alleged incident took place during a season of Indian Premier League (IPL).

“I’d like to remain anonymous. A few years back when I was in Mumbai, I was looking for my friend in the hotel we were staying in. I bumped into a very famous Sri Lankan cricketer during the IPL season who said my friend was in his room,” Chinmayi Sripaada’s post read.

“I go in and she’s not. He then pushed me in the bed and proceeded to climb onto my face. Mind you I’m tall and about same body weight & I couldn’t fight him back. I closed my eyes and mouth but he used my face. Then the hotel staff knocked on the door to replenish the bar which he went to open the door. I quickly ran into the washroom, washed my face and left as soon as the hotel staff left. I was humiliated. I knew people would say that you knowingly went to his room, he’s famous, you wanted it or worse you deserve it,” the post further read.

However, the playback singer didn’t mention her friend’s name.
