Tottenham Hotspur are dealing with a raft of injuries ahead of their midweek Premier League clash with Newcastle United, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed.

It is a must-win match at Wembley Stadium for Spurs as they look to finish in the top-four and hence, qualify for the UEFA Champions League, but they will have to make do without the services of Eric Dier for the tie with the Magpies.

The hardworking utility man is ill and will not be taking part on Wednesay night, but Pochettino is hopeful he can return for the final fixture of the season, a home game against Watford.

Mousa Dembele’s ankle is not a 100 percent, but Spurs are hoping the Belgian maestro can shrug it off to feature on Wednesday.

Central midfielder Harry Winks is still undergoing rehab for his ankle injury and is not expected to feature in the club’s final two fixtures of the season.

In case Dembele is unable to feature, Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko are likely to start in the central midfield pivot.

There was some good news for the Lilywhites faithful as their manager  confirmed defender Jan Vertonghen is fit again after limping off at West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

“Jan is okay. He’s trained well and he’s fit for tomorrow,”  Pochettino stated on Tuesday.

Currently in fourth place with 71 points, Spurs trail Liverpool by a solitary point but have played a game less.

Chelsea, who have played as many games as Spurs, are two points behind the Lilywhites.

Both Liverpool and Spurs have been in indifferent form of late, while Chelsea have picked up the pace to reignite the top-four race and it looks likely to go down to the final day of the season.
