Full-time! Colombia won the clash 2-1 to keep their chances alive in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. India suffered their second consecutive defeat in the tournament that witnessed Jeakson scoring the first goal for the hosts.

GOAL! India’s celebration halted within minutes as Juan Sebastián Peñaloza Ragga scored in the 83rd minute to help Colombia take lead again.

 

GOAL! Jeakson Singh Thaunaojam scored India’s first goal in the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Sanjeev Stalin assisted as Jeakson scored an equaliser in the 81st minute.

75′ Substitute Boris Singh Thangjam came in place of Nongdamba Naorem. Scoreline still reads 1-0 in the favour of Colombia.

Meanwhile, India’s legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar hailed the Indian goalkeeper Dheeraj, who showed tremendous grit against Colombia.

GOAL! Sebastián Peñaloza Ragga struck in the 49th minute to help Colombia take 1-0 lead against the hosts.

Half-time! Despite many attempts, neither of the two teams could score a goal in the first-half.

37′ What a save! Indian goalkeeper Dheeraj displays sheer brilliance in front of the goalpost. A full stretch save on his left to deny a rocket strike from Yadir Meneses from outside the box. The resulting corner bounces against the cross bar as India survive through some excellent goalkeeping followed by a touch of luck.

30′ Coach Luis Norton de Matos telling his boys to keep the ball on the ground and not lump it up. The first 30 minutes are gone and Colombia have not had a clear-cut chance yet.

10′ Colombia held 80 per cent possession of the ball in the first ten minutes, though no goal was recorded from either side.

Both the team stood for national anthem amid strong fans’ support.

With an eye on qualification from the Group A, India and Colombia have kicked-off their second match of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

Amarjeet Singh-led India started their campaign on a bitter note as they suffered a 0-3 defeat against the dominating US team.

Colombia also failed to start well in the mega event and went down 0-1 to Ghana.
