Premier League club Leicester City on Thursday confirmed the signing of midfielder Vicente Iborra from Spanish football club Sevilla.

“I’m very happy to be here with Leicester City and I’m looking forward to experiencing the Premier League with my new team-mates next season,” Iborra said in a statement.

The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has signed a four-year deal with the Foxes.

Having joined Sevilla in 2013, Iborra made two appearances against Leicester City in 2016 UEFA Champions League.

For the La Liga club, Iborra lifted the UEFA Europa League trophy on three occasions in four seasons he played. He made more than 170 appearances for Sevilla across all competitions.

“I’m absolutely delighted that Vicente has joined us. He’s player with such a good pedigree from his time in Spain with Sevilla and he adds some really strong competition to our squad,” Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare said after the signing.
