Ladakh’s Jigmet Chunzen is set to make her India debut in the inaugural South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Women’s Futsal Championship as the team captain. Her participation as the Captain marks a significant milestone, highlighting talent from the cold desert region on a national stage as the team prepares for the tournament in Thailand.
Chunzen expressed the team’s strong ambition, noting that, this is the first time the championship is being organized, the squad has arrived with a clear objective of winning the tournament. Indian team ‘Futsal Tigresses’ will begin their campaign against Maldives on Tuesday (13 January 2026).
