Indian opener Lokesh Rahul has been in good form in the limited overs game. However, the Karnataka batsman’s performance in the longest format of the game leaves a lot to be desired.

KL Rahul had a mixed run in the recently concluded five-match Test series where he scored 299 in five matches. Barring Rahul’s heroic in the final Test, he did not do much in the British land. And the 26-years-old stylish batsman started his West Indies series on a poor note again as he was dismissed for a duck during the first Test match in Rajkot. Now, if Rahul gets a place in the Indian squad for the second Test against West Indies, he will aim to avoid the record for most number of ducks among batsmen in the top order (1-3 position) in 2018.

Currently, KL Rahul along with Mominul Haque of Bangladesh holds the record for maximum number of ducks in the ongoing calendar year. In 2018, Rahul has been dismissed for three ducks. He was removed six times on a single digit score and eight times at 10 or below score in 16 innings.

Rahul’s tally of eight innings with 10 or below score is also the joint worst for a batsman at number three. South Africa’s Dean Elgar also has the same feat at 8 instances in 18 innings.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli-led India (by an innings and 272 runs) had recorded their biggest win in the opening Test match against West Indies in Rajkot.
