The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday announced the 15 men squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa starting 2 October where the Proteas will be the guests.

KL Rahul, who had a poor time in the 2 Tests in the West Indies was dropped while Shubman Gill got his maiden call-up in the Test side.

Talking about India against South Africa in recent years, India lost to the Proteas 1-2 the last time the two teams met in early 2018. However, India had won the Test series against South Africa at home in 2015 — Virat Kohli’s first full Test series as captain.

India started their World Test Championship campaign all guns blazing by registering 2 wins in as many matches played against the West Indies.
