Abhishek Sharma delivered a landmark performance in the Indian Premier League 2026, equalling Virat Kohli’s record for the most T20 centuries by an Indian with his ninth hundred in the format.

The explosive left-hander produced a commanding innings for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Delhi Capitals, bringing up his second IPL century in emphatic fashion.

Known for his aggressive approach at the top, Abhishek combined control with power, once again underlining his rapid rise as one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket.

With nine T20 centuries, Abhishek now joins an elite list of global names. Only Chris Gayle (22), Babar Azam (12) and David Warner (10) have more, while players like Quinton de Kock, Rilee Rossouw and Sahibzada Farhan are level with him.

The innings also marked a major personal milestone in the IPL. During his knock, Abhishek crossed 2,000 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad, becoming just the fourth batter overall and only the second Indian to reach the landmark for the franchise. He joins a distinguished list featuring Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson.

Further highlighting his impact, Abhishek also cemented his reputation as one of SRH’s most destructive hitters. Alongside Warner, he is one of only two players to smash 100+ sixes for the franchise, reflecting his role as a modern T20 aggressor.

What stood out most in his innings was the balance between patience and acceleration. After reaching his half-century in just 25 balls, Abhishek shifted gears seamlessly, bringing up his century in 47 deliveries.

Abhishek’s unbeaten 135 powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a massive 242/2 in 20 overs against Delhi Capitals in Hyderabad, putting the hosts firmly in command.
