Veteran Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has declared the next ‘million dollar baby’ in the upcoming Indian Premier League auctions. Chennai Super Kings cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes Shimron Hetmyer would attract the attention of different franchises at the upcoming IPL action.

After a disappointing batting performance in the recently concluded two-match Test series against India, young Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer scored a brilliant century in the first ODI of five-match ODI series against Men-in-Blue at Guwahati.

Hetmyer on Sunday walked out to bat at number five when Windies were struggling at 86 for three and notched up his third ODI century. During his 106-run innings, Hetmyer smashed six boundaries and six sixes.

So far, Shimron Hetmyer has scored three centuries in 13 innings and each of them has been scored with a strike rate of around 135.

Heaping praises on the West Indies batsman, Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter and wrote, “What an inn by #Hetmyer..he is gonna be a next million dollar baby in the @IPL 2019 #INDvsWI 1st ODI.”

West Indies skipper Jason Holder also applaud Hetmyer at his post-match press conference.

“He had a lean patch in the Test series and pretty innocuous dismissals as well, so it’s good to see him get a score on the board. He has been doing pretty well in the limited-overs format for us, so it’s good to see him put up his hand and score a hundred today,” Jason Holder said after the match.
