Veteran Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, who is also currently the mentor of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), took a dig at their rival team Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday after Chris Gayle scored the first century of IPL 2018.

Virender Sehwag took to Twitter and shared two photographs of Chris Gayle — in one he was seen donning RCB’s jersey and in another he was seen celebrating his first century in the 11th season of IPL while playing for KXIP.

“If you don’t Love me at my worst, Then you don’t deserve me at my worst,” Virender Sehwag captain the photograph.

Notably, the explosive batsman Chris Gayle went unsold twice in the much-talked-about Indian Premier League (IPL) players’ auction before getting picked by Kings XI Punjab for his base price.

However, Gayle repaid the faith shown in him by KXIP mentor Virender Sehwag by hitting the first century of IPL 2018. Gayle’s ton against SunRisers Hyderabad was also his 21st T20 century and sixth IPL100.

Before IPL auction 2018, Gayle played for Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore but due to his performance in the IPL 2017, the team decided to drop him from the squad.

Earlier, after KXIP’s win over Kane Williamson’s SRH by 15-runs, Sehwag hilariously claimed on Twitter that he saved IPL by picking Gayle for KXIP at the auction.

” I saved the IPL by picking – @henrygayle 🤣🤣,” Sehwag wrote on Twitter.

Responding to Sehwag’s Tweet, Gayle wrote, “Yes!”.
