Veteran Australian cricketer Shane Warne believes Rajasthan Royals’ wicket-keeper Sanju Samson is the next superstar of Indian cricket.

Talking to IplT20.com, Warner heaped praises on Sanju Samson, the 23-year-old cricketer from Kerala, “He’s good against pace and spin in all conditions and I think he’s going to be the next superstar of Indian cricket,” Warne said, adding, “He’s the new rock star, Sanju Samson that’s for sure. He’s an outstanding player and he’s a quality international cricketer.”

Shane Warne, who is currently the mentor of Rajasthan, had led the team in winning the Indian Premier League title in 2008. So far, in IPL 2018, Sanju Samson had 379 runs in 12 games at an average of 34.45 and with a strike-rate of 140.

“India at the moment are blessed with some riches of talent, I think our man Sanju Samson is right up there with [Risabh] Pant,” Warne told IPlT20.com, adding, “I think those two guys are probably the two best young Indian batsman I’ve seen in a long, long time.”

Sanju Samson was part of Indian squad in 2015 – in a Twenty20 against Zimbabwe.
