The two times Indian Premier League title winner, Chennai Super Kings, are back in the cash-rich league after two years’ suspension due to spot-fixing and will play Mumbai Indians in the opening game of the 11th edition on April 7.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the fixture of the 11th edition of IPL.
The tournament will start from April 7 and end on May 27, 2018. The matches will be played at nine venues, across India.
“Defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on two-time winners Chennai Super Kings in what promises to be a marquee opening game of the Indian Premier League 2018, to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, April 7, 2018,” the BCCI statement read.
