India’s Nitin Menon and Javagal Srinath have been appointed to the officiating team for the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled for March 4 and 5.

The first semi-final will see South Africa take on New Zealand at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, while defending champions India will meet England in the second semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

For the Kolkata clash, Richard Illingworth and Alex Wharf have been named as on-field umpires. Illingworth had officiated South Africa’s semi-final victory two years ago, when the Proteas bowled out Afghanistan for 56 en route to a nine-wicket win, while Wharf stood in New Zealand’s group-stage win over the same opposition in this edition.

Menon will serve as the third umpire in the first semi-final, with Rod Tucker appointed as the fourth umpire. Javagal Srinath will take on match referee duties in Kolkata.

In Mumbai, Chris Gaffaney and Allahuddien Paleker will officiate on the field for the India-England encounter. Gaffaney also stood in the 2024 semi-final between the two sides, which India won by 68 runs, and has overseen India’s matches against South Africa and the West Indies in the current tournament.

Paleker has officiated two England fixtures — against the West Indies and Scotland — as well as India’s win over the Netherlands. Adrian Holdstock has been named the third umpire for the Mumbai semi-final, with Paul Reiffel as the fourth umpire. Andy Pycroft will serve as the match referee.
