Million-dollar victory: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth wins Indonesia Open

Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth beat Kazumasa Sakai of Japan in straight games 21-11, 21-19 to win the Indonesia Open Super Series Premier badminton tournament at Jakarta on Sunday.

With this win, the 24-year-old from Guntur became the first Indian male shuttler to win an Indonesia Open title.

World No.22 Srikanth took 37 minute to beat Japanese shuttler to clinch his second Super Series Premier title. Srikanth's last Super Series Premier win came in 2014 when he won the China Open.

Earlier in semis, Srikanth defeated World No.1 Son Wan Ho of Korea by 21-15, 18-21, 24-22 to enter the final of the USD 1,000,000 badminton event.

This was Srikanth's fourth Super Series final as had reached the summit clash in Singapore in April this year and had won the India Open in 2015.
