Indian Men’s Hockey ‘A’ Team beat Bangladesh 5-2 in the fifth match here at the Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru Campus on Thursday.

After Gagandeep Singh Sr scored the first goal for India ‘A’ team in the 4th minute, Bangladesh scored an equaliser in the 13th minute through Mohammad Ashraful Islam.

It was Nilakanta Sharma’s double goal in the 14th and 26th minute that extended the home team’s lead to a comfortable 3-1. Though Islam scored again in the 44th minute to narrow the lead by a goal, India finished the match well with a well-converted PC in the 52nd minute by dragflicker Rupinder Pal Singh followed by a field goal by forward Gurjant Singh in the 58th minute.
