Kolkata, 27 February: The final of the 11th edition of SAARC Championship was played between India and Bangladesh with India triumphing to win the championship. The first match was of a very high calibre where the holes were being won or halved with birdies. Udayam Mane was 2 down to Md Sagor after 4 holes, but won the fifth and six with birdies to turn 1 down.
Mane squared the match by winning the 10th hole and there after never looked back. He won the 15th and 16th holes with birdies to be 2 up. Being dormie two up after 16th holes, 17th was halved thus giving Mane a 2 and 1 win. Mane’s individual gross score was 3 under par 67.
The second match between Karan Taunk & Ismail, saw Karan seal the championship for India by winning 4 and 3. The third match between Nazim and Aman Raj was won by Bangladesh but was of no consequence to the overall result. agencies
