Following a target of 119 runs, India beat South Africa by nine wickets in the second One Day International (ODI) match at SuperSport Park, Centurion on Sunday. With this win, India have taken a 2-0 in the ongoing six-match ODI series.

Chasing the target, India lost opener Rohit Sharma early as sent back to pavilion at a score of 15 runs by Kagiso Rabada.

After Sharma’s dismissal, Indian skipper Virat Kohli joined Shikhar Dhawan on the crease and took the charge of the innings. From the visitors’ side, Shikhar Dhawan scored a fifty and with Kohli chased down the target of 119 runs with ease.

Meanwhile, Kohli scored 46 runs.

Earlier in the day, after winning the toss, India decided to bowl first and with the help of Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal (5/22) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/20) bundled out the hosts for 118 runs.

Other than, Chahal and Kuldeep, pacers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket each.

From South Africa’s side, JP Duminy (25) and Khaya Zondo (25) were the top scorers. Other than Duminy and Zondo, only openers Hashim Amla (23 runs) and wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock (20 runs) showed some resistance to India’s spin attack. Chris Morris scored 14 runs and stand-in captain Aiden Markram (8) was not even able to cross the mark of 10, as he was sent back to the pavilion by Kuldeep Yadav.
