Virat Kohli is fighting a lone battle in the ongoing opening Test match between India and England at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The 29-year-old captain has been brilliant in the first Test, scoring a magnificent century in the first innings and pulled India to a respectable score of 274, just 13 runs behind England’s first innings score.

Virat continued his dream run in the second innings with an unbeaten 43 that has kept India in the race for a memorable win.

Virat had received a lot of accolades after his superlative 149, former Aussie skipper Steve Waugh has even called Indian skipper ‘a global superstar’ and backed him for breaking all the records in world cricket.

“This guy is a global superstar. Will break all records in world cricket. @virat.kohli #india #ultimatecompetitor #passion,” Steve Waugh wrote on photo-sharing application Instagram.

 

Earlier, the likes of former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar and former England batsman Kevin Pietersen had heaped praise on Kohli.
