Star England spinner Adil Rashid has returned in England’s Test squad for the opening match of the five-match series. Notably, earlier, Adil Rashid had said that he wanted to concentrate on limited-overs cricket.

Earlier in February, Rashid signed a white-ball-only contract with Yorkshire. However, the leg-spinner at that time had said he “was not finished” with the longest format of the game. Responding to ECB’s decision to included in the first Test, Yorkshire said they are “surprised” while ex-England captain Michael Vaughan called the decision “ridiculous”.

The first Test match between India and England will start on 1 August and it will be played at the Edgbaston. All-rounder Moeen Ali has also made a comeback in England squad and Essex pacer Jamie Porter has earned the maiden call.
