Resuming at the lead of 292 runs on the third day of the third Test match, Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team put up a splendid batting performance to take it to a humongous total of 520 runs.

The 29-year-old Indian captain once again led from the front scoring a determined Test century against the still probing England pace attack at Trent Bridge. Apart from Virat Kohli, Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara and all-rounder Hardik Pandya also scored half-centuries.

Here is the list of records that were shattered on the third day’s play in Nottingham.

1- Virat Kohli (56.09) has the second-best conversion rate of the fifties to hundreds. The only player who has better conversion rate is Australian great Sir Don Bradman (69.05). While Virat Kohli has converted 23 of his 41 fifty-plus, Bradman had converted 29 of his 42 fifty-plus scores into three figures.

2- Sir Don Bradman (2.71) is the only player in the history of cricket, who has a better ratio of centuries per innings in Tests than Virat Kohli (3.93) — when a filter of minimum ten centuries is imposed.

3- Virat Kohli (16 Test centuries) is the fourth Indian cricketer on the list of players with maximum number of centuries outside India. Kohli is only behind Sachin Tendulkar (29), Rahul Dravid (21) and Sunil Gavaskar (18).

4- On Monday, Virat Kohli scored his 16th Test century as skipper. Only former South African captain Graeme Smith (25 centuries from 193 innings) and Australian great Ricky Ponting (19 centuries from 140 innings) have more tons among skippers than Kohli.

5- Virat Kohli has scored 23 centuries in the longest format of the game — joint fourth along with Virender Sehwag on the list of India’s highest century-makers. Virat Kohli is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar (51), Rahul Dravid (36) and Sunil Gavaskar (34).

6- Virat Kohli has scored 200 (including both innings) runs in the third Test — this is the tenth time when Virat has scored 200 or more runs in a Test match as captain.
