Chasing a below-par target, skipper Harmanpreet’s 34 took India home with 5 wickets in hand. Meanwhile, South African pacer Shabnim Ismail returned figures of 2 for 19 but that could not restrict India from taking an unassailable lead of 3-0.

Talking about the series, after the second and third matches got washed out without a ball bowled, India bettered on their 1-0 lead taken in the first game to win the rain-affected fourth match which was shortened to 17 overs a side.

However, Indian eves kept their dominance unaffected even in the fifth encounter.

The two teams meet next on 4 October for the sixth and final T20I of the series.
