Afghanistan Cricket team became the world’s 12th Test playing nation on Thursday. The Afghan team under the leadership of Asghar Stanikzai made their Test debut against Ajinkya Rahane-led Indian cricket team at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

After winning the toss, standby India skipper Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first. Riding on explosive batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s century, India scored 158 runs without loss in 27 overs.

Dhawan and Murali Vijay opened Indian innings and gave India a decent start by stitching up 158 runs in 27 overs during the first session of the first day of the one-off Test between India and Afghanistan.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 104 runs off 91 balls with a strike rate of 114.29. Murali Vijay scored 41 runs off 72 balls.

Afghanistan tried five different bowlers in the first session of the game but none of them were able to get any wicket for Afghan team.
