The International Cricket Council (ICC) has lifted the ban on Sri Lankan cricket with immediate effect.

THSri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was suspended on November 10 for significant breaches of its ICC membership. In particular, it had to do with “the requirement to manage its affairs autonomously and ensure that there is no government interference in the governance, regulation, and/or administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.” .

The ICC Board stated on Sunday that it has been monitoring the issue since the suspension and “is now satisfied that SLC is no longer in breach of membership obligations.”

The ICC’s annual financing will be curtailed until the suspension is removed. Since then, Sri Lanka has hosted Zimbabwe in a white-ball series in early 2024.
