In match No 23 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, West Indies are all set to meet Bangladesh at the County Cricket Ground, Taunton. Both the teams have three points from their four matches but have somehow, struggled in the game-defining moments of the match. It is their performance in these moments that have cost them games.

West Indies are placed sixth at the points table of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 while Bangladesh are at the eighth place. The Caribbeans are coming on the back of a defeat to England where their batsman just did not show enough patience and maturity to play through the innings and post a challenging total on the board. At the same time, chasing a modest total, England were hardly challenged by the West Indian bowling unit including the likes of Jason Holder and Shannon Gabriel.

On the other side, Bangladesh have their own set of concerns to address before the match- the most important being inability to deal with the pressure situations. For instance, Shakib Al Hasan tried his level best in an attempt to chase down England’s mammoth total of 386 but despite his hundred Bangladesh were bundled out for 280 as no other batsmen helped Shakib and played with the mindset to win.

Central to their team’ s performance will be Andre Russell, who just hasn’t been at the prime of his fitness and would be interesting to see if he is drafted into the Playing XI. On the other hand, Shakib Al Hasan has been fantastic with the bat –having already scored two half-centuries and a hundred — and he has been brilliant with the bowl as well. If Bangladesh needs to win this one, they need Shakib to continue his good form.

Before the two teams meet on Monday, they will be aware that winning most of their remaining matches is their best chance to proceed to the next stage and the teams will look to do just that when lock horns at the County Cricket Ground, Taunton.

Action begins from 3pm (IST) onwards.
