Veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has slammed Indian selectors for not including Mayank Agrawal in the 16-member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2018.

Harbhajan Singh took to micro-blogging site Twitter to express his surprise at the selectors’ decision and wrote, “Where is Mayank Agarwal ??? After scoring so many runs I don’t see him in the squad … different rules for different people I guess.”

Meanwhile, MSK Prasad, chairman of the selection panel, has assured that Mayank Agarwal’s chance will come sooner than later.

“Mayank Agarwal has been fantastic and has been consistent in the last 10-12 months. He is just a step away and I am sure in due course of time he will get his recognition,” MSK Prasad had said.

“And he did well In all three formats in whatever opportunities he has got in domestic cricket. We will definitely look at it when we rest some of the senior players,” Prasad added.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had announced Indian squad for Asia Cup 2018 last week. Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been rested for the upcoming fixture and his deputy Rohit Sharma will lead the Men-in-Blue in his absence.

Ambati Rayudu, who was earlier dropped from India’s UK tour for failing in Yo-Yo test, has also found a place in the team.
