As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors and Indian team management are mulling over India’s squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019, veteran off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, has prepared a list of 15 players he would want to fly over to England.

Harbhajan has picked Team India skipper Virat Kohli along with his deputy Rohit Sharma and opener Shikhar Dhawan. He has also picked Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav, along with former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for Team India’s World Cup squad.

The CSK star has also included spin-all rounder Ravindra Jadeja in his squad along with spinner twins Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. He also picked Umesh Yadav in his squad and backed all-rounder Vijay Shankar to come good if given a chance during the World Cup.

In the just concluded three-match T20I series against New Zealand, Vijay Shanker was impressive with the bat, though he was not given the ball by Rohit Sharma as the stand-in skipper put his trust in Pandya brothers (Krunal and Hardik Pandya) to do the job.

Other than Umesh Yadav, Harbhajan has picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, and Jasprit Bumrah in the pace department. Surprisingly, Bhaji ignored Rishabh Pant but included Dinesh Karthik.

“If you remember, during the 2017 Champions Trophy, the weather in the UK was hot and humid. So, if conditions are same, Jadeja could still be used as a package, if the opposition team has five to six right-handers in their line-up. Play him as No.6 with Hardik Pandya as No.7. Also, he is still your best fielder,” Harbhajan Singh told PTI in an interview.

Harbhajan Singh’s 15-man squad for the 2019 ICC World Cup: Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Dinesh Karthik, Umesh Yadav, and Vijay Shankar. Probable: Ravindra Jadeja
