Twitter was flooded with wishes as legendary Indian spinner Anil Kumble turned 48 on Wednesday, October 17.

Anil Kumble has played 132 Tests and 271 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for India before he announced his retirement from international cricket. In his illustrious career, Kumble has bagged 619 wickets in the longest format of the game. Anil Kumble is also the third highest wicket-taker in the world in five-dayers after Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan (800) and Australia’s Shane Warne (708 Test wickets).

Anil Kumble’s all-ten against Pakistan in Delhi in 1999 remains one of his career highlights as the 48-year-old is still only the second bowler in the history of cricket to claim all ten wickets in an inning of a Test match.
