With the content of Pakistan cricket star Shahid Afridi’s book, in which he has criticised Gautam Gambhir, becoming public, the Indian cricketer-turned-politician took a jibe at the author. He said Afridi should be taken to a psychiatrist.

Taking to Twitter, the southpaw posted: “@SAfridiOfficial you are a hilarious man!!! Anyway, we are still granting visas to Pakistanis for medical tourism. I will personally take you to a psychiatrist.”

Gambhir got a lot of support from his fans on the microblogging site. While some termed the remark as ‘savage’, others made fun of the Pakistan all-rounder.

“Usko samajh me nahi aayega…….Hindi me likh do…” posted one user.

Talks about the two started after Shahid Afridi launched his autobiography, Game Changer, on April 30. In his book, Afridi wrote: “Gambhir behaves like he’s a cross between Don Bradman & James Bond. In Karachi, we call guys like him saryal (burnt up). It’s simple, I like happy, positive people. Doesn’t matter if they are aggressive or competitive, but you have to be positive & Gambhir wasn’t.”

He also wrote: “He (Gautam) who has no personality. He who is barely a character in the great scheme of cricket. He who has no great records just a lot of attitude.”

Gambhir, who is widely known for his frank comments, did not bother to comment on the issue earlier. It’s not the first time that there has been a run-in between the two. Their unfriendly behaviour towards each other is nothing new.
