Sunday’s English Premier League action delivered a mix of victories and stalemates, with Manchester United claiming a crucial win over Aston Villa, while Liverpool were held by Tottenham Hotspur in dramatic fashion.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United strengthened their hold on third place with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. The hosts opened the scoring early in the second half when Casemiro headed in from a corner in the 53rd minute.

Villa responded through Ross Barkley, who equalised in the 64th minute, but United quickly regained control as Matheus Cunha restored the lead in the 71st minute. Substitute Benjamin Sesko then sealed the win in the 81st minute. The triumph moves United to 54 points, maintaining their momentum in the race for a Champions League spot.

Meanwhile, Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield. The home side took the lead, but Tottenham salvaged a point in the dying moments when Richarlison struck an equaliser, frustrating Liverpool’s hopes of a top-four finish.

Elsewhere, both Crystal Palace and Leeds United played out a goalless stalemate, with neither side able to convert several promising chances. Palace remain in mid-table, while Leeds continue their battle to stay clear of the relegation zone.

Nottingham Forest also shared points with Fulham in a 0-0 draw at the City Ground. Forest couldn’t make home advantage count, but the point helps them edge further from the relegation zone as the fight for survival intensifies in the season’s closing weeks.
