Delhi Capitals redeemed their earlier loss to Mumbai Indians with a crucial win in Vadodara. After falling short in their first meeting this season, DC bounced back strongly, powered by Jemimah Rodrigues’ match-defining half-century, a first for her this season and her fourth TATA WPL fifty.

The chase was controlled and confident, and the Capitals sealed a much-needed victory with 6 balls to spare to reach the target.

Marizanne Kapp then sealed the chase in emphatic fashion with a six off the final ball of the over as Delhi Capitals cruised to a seven-wicket win with six balls to spare.

Deeya Yadav is making her WPL debut for Delhi Capitals. The 16-year-old from Haryana is a right-handed top-order batter and a left-arm orthodox bowler. She was signed by DC for ₹10 lakh at the WPL 2026 auction, with her debut coming against Mumbai Indians in Vadodara.

Deeya first rose to prominence during the 2023 U-15 One-Day Trophy, where she piled up 578 runs at an average of 96.33, including a stunning unbeaten 213 off 125 balls against Tripura. Her consistent performances in domestic T20 tournaments earned her selection in senior state and zonal teams, fast-tracking her rise to the WPL stage.
