A suspended Madhya Pradesh policeman is set to be reinstated into service after his daughter, pace bowler Kranti Goud of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, played a key role in India’s historic first ICC Women’s ODI World Cup win.

The man in reference is Munna Singh Goud, the father of Kranti Goud. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday made the announcement of revoking the suspension of Munna Singh Goud, and reinstating him into the Madhya Pradesh Police.

The CM felicitated Kranti Goud, her mother Neelam, father Munna Singh Goud, and coach Rajiv Birthre at a function at the CM House in Bhopal on Friday.

The CM also announced that another grand felicitation of Kranti Goud would be held at Jabalpur on 15 November, on the occasion of ‘Tribal Pride Day’ to commemorate tribal king Birsa Munda’s anniversary.

On the request of Kranti Goud, CM Dr Yadav also agreed that the state government would construct a world-class stadium at Chhatarpur to promote cricket and other sports too. Kranti Goud is from the Ghuwara village of Chhatarpur district in the backward Bundelkhand region of MP.

Kranti Goud said on the occasion that she is feeling elated on being able to contribute to the country’s world cup win. She also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently met the members of the world cup winning team.

Kranti said that the PM gave them the mantra to ‘stay in the present’ and focus on their fitness and also promote others to remain healthy.

She said that despite facing severe odds in her personal life, she never gave up her dream and kept fighting for it with support of her family, which eventually brought her such a big achievement.

Kranti Goud also thanked CM Dr Mohan Yadav and the state government for honouring her with a cash reward of Rs one crore.

MP Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang was also present at the felicitation event.

According to information, Kranti Goud’s father, Munna Singh Goud, a Constable in MP Police, has been suspended since 2012.

Many innocent elderly parents, particularly in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, have seen their houses demolished by bulldozers in the past, not for any fault of theirs, but as a consequence of illegal activities of their sons.
