Leading the Indian side in the Mohali ODI, Rohit Sharma left no stone unturned and replied his critics for Dharamsala defeat with a remarkable knock of 208 runs and propelled the hosts to 392/4 in their innings on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old Maharastra batsman struck his third double century, decorating his 153-ball knock with 13 boundaries and 12 sixes.

Rohit’s heroics brought him back in the spotlight and the cricketer received heartwarming wishes from the Indian cricket fraternity.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag wrote on Twitter: “Wah Rohit Wah! 35 balls for the second hundred. So proud of you Rohit Sharma!”

“Not one, not two but three double centuries in ODI cricket. You made batting look easy and simple in this innings, @ImRo45. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Keep them coming always.👌✌️💪#IndvsSri #BCCI,” India’s forgotten middle-order batsman Suresh Raina said.

All-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who once scored six consecutive sixes in an over, heaped praise on Rohit, calling him ‘The man of double hundreds’.

“The man of double hundreds @ImRo45 You beauty ! World class brothaman,” he tweeted.

The ‘God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar joined the celebration, saying: “Way to go my friend. Always a joy to watch you bat :-)) @ImRo45.”

Former India batsman VVS Laxman didn’t shy to call Rohit’s daring-dos an ‘unreal’ task.

“What an innings Hitman , quite unreal. Many congratulations on the 3rd ODI double. 3 alone out of a total 7 ODI double hundred’s. Take a bow @ImRo45,” he tweeted.
