Great news for the Lilywhites faithful as they do not have a replacement for the 24-year-old.

Tottenham Hotspur fans were thrilled to see their team bus contain star striker Harry Kane, who’s made a rapid recovery from an ankle injury, as the Lilywhites arrived at Stamford Bridge to take on crosstown rivals Chelsea for a high-stakes Premier League clash on Sunday.

Kane injured his ankle during Spurs’ win over Bournemouth and was forced off, with Mauricio Pochettino revealing the in-form forward had damaged ligaments and was expected him to return sometime in mid-April.

With the international break ensuing, Kane actually didn’t end up missing too many games for Spurs, just one FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea City (which Spurs managed to win 3-0 at a canter) and speculation was rife that the 24-year-old could return in time for the clash with the Blues.

And Pochettino confirmed, earlier in the week, the striker’s rehabilitation had been going extremely well but refused to provide an exact timetable on Kane’s return to action.

With Spurs out of contention in Europe, they are now active only in the Premier League and the FA Cup.

While they will be aiming to end the season on a high by lifting the FA Cup, their main focus remains the Premier League, where they are in a four-way battle to finish in the top-four.

With Manchester City virtually assured of the title, it’s left to Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea to contest for the remaining three spots that ensure qualification for next year’s UEFA Champions League.

Spurs, currently in fourth place, lead the Blues by five points but that deficit could be trimmed to just two should the West Londoners win their clash on Sunday and perhaps Pochettino could be tempted to risk Kane considering the stakes involved.

The Lilywhites have not won at Stamford Bridge since 1990 and while Antonio Conte’s men haven’t been in top form this season, they are expected to give Spurs a run for their money when they resume their relatively-new rivalry.
