Cheteshwar Pujara needs priest’s blessing to get out: Sachin Tendulkar

Praising India Test batsman Cheteshwar Pujara on his 32nd birthday, India legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar said that the right-handed batsman “needs the priest’s blessing to get out”.

Tendulkar took to Twitter to wish India’s “new wall” a warm happy birthday in Gujarati.

“Pujara needs the priest’s blessing to get out! Happy Birthday! Have a great one, @cheteshwar1,” meant Tendulkar’s tweet in English.

Meanwhile, India cricketer Wriddhiman Saha tweeted: “Happiest Birthday @cheteshwar1 ! May you be gifted with life’s biggest joys and never-ending bliss. #HappyBirthday #CheteshwarPujara.”

“Happy birthday Puji. Wish you a year full of happiness! @cheteshwar1,” wrote Ajinkya Rahane.

Meanwhile, India batsman Mayank Agarwal said: “Happy Birthday, @cheteshwar1! May this day be the start of a year filled with good luck, good health and much happiness.”

Pujara, who made his international debut in 2010, is a vital top-order batsman of the Indian test team.

The right-handed batsman has played 75 Test matches in which he has scored 5740 runs at an average of 49.48. This includes 18 hundreds and 24 half-centuries.

Despite being one of the best batsmen in the Test team, Cheteshwar Pujara has played only 5 ODIs till date in which he has scored 51 runs and has not been included in the ODIs side since 2014.
