The controversy surrounding Yo-Yo fitness Test’s importance and transparency continue to grow with each passing day. In a new devolvement, Hyderabad Cricket Association secretary, T Sheshnarayan has slammed the disqualification of Ambati Rayudu from the Indian squad.

“This looks very lopsided and deep-rooted. Since a person who got nearly the highest runs in IPL this year and has also played all the 50-over games in the domestic season, he now finds himself unfit on some highly overrated fitness test. How can an unfit person score so many runs?” HCA secretary was quoted saying by Deccan Chronicle.

Earlier, the Indian squad for England underwent the Yo-Yo Test and almost all the players, except Rayudu, cleared it.

Ambati Rayudu failed the test on 15 June and he was later replaced by all-rounder Suresh Raina.

“This is very harsh and draconian. HCA will stand by its players and fight for their rights,” Sheshnarayan added.

He further said: “We know what is going on behind the scenes and people are taking advantage of the fluid situation in the BCCI and pushing decisions. We demand that the process of the tests be made transparent and open to public domain.”

Meanwhile, it is also being said that Indian opener Rohit Sharma has also failed the test and BCCI has permitted him to take the test again.
